Medusa's Deathmatch is a game mode where 3 teams of 3 fight to the death in a small arena. In the center of the mystical shrine is an ancient relic that grants immeasurable power to the team that claims it.

The map for this game mode features tight corridors, speed strips to allow fast travel, grass that will hide the players from plain sight, potions that restores health and mana, and a dangerous sandstorm that slowly reduces the playspace of the map.

The first team to 3 wins is the victor.

The goal for Medusa's Deathmatch was to create fast paced arena-style gameplay with the addition of a third team. Based on this goal the map size is kept small to ensure teamfights occurred at a reasonable pace. In addition to the map size, important objectives were added to allow us to control the pacing of the match as well as a dangerous sandstorm that slowly shrinks the gameplay space.

The map is broken up into three sections: the Jungle, the Outer Ring, and the Inner Arena.

The Jungle is where teams will find potions that grant health, mana, and a small health shield as well as tall grass that grants stealth to anyone within it. Players will oftentimes retreat here to recover from a fight or escape from a pursuing enemy.

The Outer Ring is where team positioning takes place. It acts as a fast travel to all four corners of the map, a way to spot out teams in transit, or simply a place for a team to decide their next best move. Its size is comparable to a lane which grants a bit of comfort during combat and allows players room to dodge any large AoE attacks.

The Inner Arena is where the most valuable objective is located and where most teams end up whenever the objective is available. The gameplay space is narrow and tight, which introduces an element of risk and fear in players who do not have control of the center.
